These are not drop in leagues - please read what to do to play:

Women’s Tennis will start at Desert Hills Courts at 7:15 a.m. begining Tuesday, May 6th. Contact Nancy Ziegler at 203-8981, or ngziegler@cox.net. Please do not show up at the courts, you will need to call Nancy with your Name, Phone, E-mail address and GVR number.

Men and women’s tennis will start at Desert Hills Courts at 9:00 a.m. beginning on Friday, May 2nd and will run through September 26th. Contact Jon Otto at 207-6456 or jon.otto@cox.net to sign up.

Drop In Tennis::::

Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. at west there is a mixer for men and women. This is a drop in group. The coordinator is Kim Steinhilb. You can reach him at 393-1494. You do not need to call first, just come and play.

APRIL POTLUCK WILL BE HELD AT THE WEST CENTER RAMADA ON SUNDAY, APRIL 13TH. Social hour begins at 5:30 as usual, dinner around 6:00. Bring a potluck dish to serve 8, what you want to drink, your table setting, and let’s finish out the season at the new Ramada.

Post USTA Mix It Up League will begin soon!

Meet at West at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28th. Names will be drawn for team placement and play will begin at noon.

Play will be on Fridays, 12 noon to 2 p.m. at west center beginning 3/28 and ending 4/25.

Levels of play are 3.0 and up.

USTA Senior Mixed Doubles Team

Details, Details…

Participants need to have a valid USTA number and join the league.

Each court will have one male and one female player

Partners will add their individual USTA ratings for the court Ratings.

Each match will have 3 courts

The league will play during March and April for 2008, starting the week of March 2nd

Section Championships will be held in September.

3 Leagues are being formed for combined ratings of 6.0, 7.0 or 8.0.

Historically, matches have been held on Sundays.

Last year the 6.0 league had 1 team, while the 7.0 and 8.0 leagues, each had 6 teams.

Leagues are forming now, but the deadline for Team Registration is Feb 10th

Some Teams have as many as 12 - 15 members, others less.

NO, you do not have to play with your spouse, but you can.

This is a Senior USTA League with players 50 and older.

If you are interested in playing in the Senior Mixed Doubles League, sign up on the signup sheet at the Tennis Ramada at West Center and indicate your rating and the league level (s) you would be interested in playing.

Get ready! It is coming! The annual Coyote/Rattler Tournament! January 21 through 26, 2008 at West Center. Deadline to register is January 14. BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE ENTRY FORM AND PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST AT WEST. The awards dinner will be on Saturday night at 5:30. The cost for the dinner is $16 per person. You will have to choose either Turkey or Ham on the application form. Coyote Rattler Entry Form

FORMAT: The format will be doubles with a new partner each day. You’ll play 3 sets or one and one-half hour, whichever comes first. Balls will be provided by the Tennis Club.

MATCH TIMES: Matches will begin at 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00 each day. A schedule of matches will be posted at the West Center Tennis Ramada the week before the tournament.

ENTRY FEE: The cost is $10 for members of the Tennis Club and $12 for nonmembers.

COYOTE/RATTLER DINNER. There will be a Coyote/Rattler Dinner on Saturday evening, January 26, at Canoa Recreation Center. The winning team will be announced at the dinner along with other prizes. Cost for the dinner is $16.00 per person. On the entry form please select either Baked Ham or Roast Turkey. Please be sure to bring your spouse or friend even if they did not play in the tournament. Social hour is 5:30 PM. (BYOB) with dinner at 6:00 PM. Sign up for the Dinner is on the tournament entry form.
