The meeting on March 11, 2007 will be the annual meeting for the tennis club. It will be held on Sunday, March 11 at Desert Hills - social hour begins at 5:30 pm and dinner at 6:15 pm. Dinner will be catered.

Cost: $15 per person

Bring what you want to drink - table service will be provided

Deadline to register for the dinner is March 5th.

USTA team action was limited this week due to the
Coyote/Rattler Tournament. The home match schedule, as I am
aware of it now, for the rest of the winter season, is the

All matches are at West Tennis Center unless noted. All men’s matches are 2-4 PM; all women matches are at 12-2 PM,except Cathy Waddle’s matches which are at 2-4 PM.

There may be some changes due to weather and previous rainouts, etc., so spectators
should confirm with the captain if they really want to see a match. All of these matches will be at West Tennis Center.

In 2007 the Coyotes won the tournament. A spokes person from the Rattlers said there is always next year! HOPE EVERYONE HAD FUN!

The Green Valley Tennis Club invites you to enter the Annual Coyotes VS Rattlers Tournament, January 22 - 27, at the West Tennis Center.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. ENTRY FORMS: Entry forms are located in by Court 5, in the plastic bins, where you are signing in. ENTRY FORMS ARE DUE BY JANUARY 10 SO CAPS CAN BE ORDERED! IMPORTANT TO ALSO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE SIGN UP SHEET, AS THE TOURMENT IS LIMITED TO 48 MEN AND 48 WOMEN. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THAT SIGN UP SHEET YOU WILL NOT BE COUNTED AS ONE OF THE PLAYERS.

2. MATCH TIMES: Matches will begin at 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30 each day. A schedule of matches will be posted at the West Center Tennis Hut the week before the tournament.

3. FORMAT: The format will be doubles with a new partner each day. You’ll play 3 sets or one and one-half hour, whichever comes first. Balls will be provided by the Tennis Club.

4. CAPS: Each participant will receive a team CAP.

5. ENTRY FEE: The cost is $10 for members of the Tennis Club and $12 for nonmembers of the Club. This is a good opportunity to join the Club if you’re a nonmember and apply your nonmember rate towards membership. Membership forms are available at the West Center.

6. GREAT AMERICAN COYOTE/RATTLER DINNER. There will be a Coyotes/Rattler Dinner on Saturday evening, January 27, at Desert Hills Recreation Center. The winning team will be announced at the dinner along with other prizes. Cost for the dinner is $15 per person (be sure to bring your spouse or friend even if they did not play in the tournament). Social hour is 5:30 PM. (BYOB) with dinner at 6:30 PM. Sign up for the Banquet is on the tournament entry form.

7. INFORMATION: Need additional information? Call Jim Bath at 399-4821 or Rip Fulton at 625-5833. Jim Bath will be out of town between December 17, 2006 to January 4, 2007.

Sign Up will be January 5, 2007 at noon at Desert Hills. Play will start January 9, 2007.

West Center courts are finished. Be careful when playing - the surface is slow and shoes may “stick”.

There is dust and noise at West Center due to construction. Please exucse the mess.
