Please Note: Court Times are very important. You know the old saying use them or lose them. To ensure that everyone is accommodated playing time it is necessary to appear at Desert Hills Social Center Auditorium on September 26, 2008 between 12 Noon and 1:00 p.m. to sign up for your choice of days. If you cannot be present at that time, email the captain the date you wish to play and include your Green Valley estimated arrival date, your GVR Number and a contact phone number. We want as many players as we can accommodate so, please appear at the sign up or email your captain. Also, we invite you to join the Green Valley Tennis Club if you have not already done so. The membership dues are $10.00 for a year of fun, food and other activities. Application forms are available on this web site.

USTPA Professional Ray Wardlaw continues to provide tennis lessons for GVR. If you would like instruction or have a group who would like a lesson, contact Ray. His fee is $40 per hour. Ray also teaches some lessons through GVR - check their class schedule book or on line to find these.

The decorating committee headed up by Jan Evans has done a wonderful job on decorating the tennis ramada. They have painted a mural for the south end by the kitchen and had a bulletin board put up (which they painted to match the colors of the court and the mural).

A carpet has been installed in the “hut”, which we hope will deaden the noise when taking reservations. The tennis club purchased the carpet and had it installed by Lowes.

Fans are being purchased by the tennis club for the eating area under the roof and GVR will do the installation.

Keep your eyes open, the committee is planning more fun decorations.

GVR has notified us that the East Center fence on the north end of the tennis courts was blown down by the wind.

The contractor has informed GVR that it might be a while before they can come down to repair the fence.

GVR will put up a “construction fence” on the north end of the court that will allow the courts to remain operational until a permanent fence can be installed. There will be no wind screens on the temporary fence.
