BALL MACHINE
Ball Machine Court Reservations
1. The Tennis Club ball machine is permanently housed at Las Campanas and is used on Court # 2 only. Due to GVR safety concerns, Court # 1 cannot be used for the ball machine.
2. Members wanting to use the machine are allowed to reserve it and Court #2, up to one week in advance by signing up on the ball machine reservation form in the binder at Las Campanas tennis/racquet ball Ramada. This rule is the same as that used in our current Tennis Court Reservation System. Only one future (active) reservation per member per week at a time is allowed.
3. The ball machine can be used at the following times during the winter season: 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday – Saturday and 6.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M. on Sunday.
4. During the summer season from May 1 through Sept. 30 the ball machine may be used 6 AM till dusk every day. To reserve the ball machine during the summer morning hours 6AM till noon, reserve Court #2 at L.C. following the normal reservation system. If Court #2 isn’t reserved for morning play it can be used via the open court system. From noon on, the ball machine can be reserved using the reservation sign in sheet at L.C.
5. A ball machine user must sign in with his/her start time on the regular GVR sign-in sheet for Court #2, regardless of whether he/she has made advanced reservations.
6. Advanced reservations for the machine shall be by the hour, on the hour, for one-hour increments.
7. Members using the ball machine have priority use of LC Court #2 afternoons and Sundays if they either have signed up in advance, as above, or signed in on Court #2 no sooner than 10 minutes before the hour and before a competing group is signed in and fully assembled. (See exception in #3 above.) If the competing group arrives at the same time as the ball machine user, the spin of a racquet will decide who gets the court.
8. A ball machine reservation for court #2 is considered forfeited if not in use by 10 minutes after the reservation start time.
9. Other players/groups wishing to use LC Court #2 during the Ball Machine hours as stated above must check the advance registration form for the ball machine to assure Court #2 is available. If there are no advance conflicting reservations for the ball machine, and a group starts play, they are allowed the full 1 ½ court time allowed for regular tennis.
